I SEE YOU IN THE SHADOWS,
WHERE THE SUN DOES NOT PENETRATE,
THROUGH THE THICKNESS OF THE TREES,
AND YOUR REFLECTION SEEMS TO SHIMMER ,
ON THE SMOOTH SURFACE OF THE LAKE.
GRASS SLIGHTLY MOVING BY THE PATH,
THAT TOGETHER WE USE TO TAKE,
THEN SOMETHING KIND OF TOUCHES,
THE BACK OF MY NECK LIKE A WHISPER,
SENDING CHILLS THAT MAKES MY BODY SHAKE.
THE MOON RISES HIGHER IN THE INDIGO SKY,
SENDING ITS BEAMS SLANTING ACROSS THE FLOOR,
NEVER QUITE REACHING THE DARK CORNERS,
SHEER WHITE CURTAINS SWAY BY A SOFT BREEZE,
FLOATING IN THE OPEN WINDOW AS I CRY ONCE MORE.
REACHING FOR YOUR PILLOW TO HOLD IT SO CLOSE,
I FEEL YOUR PRESENCE ALL AROUND OUR HOME,
YOUR FRAGRANCE AND MEMORIES ARE ALL THAT'S LEFT,
I CAN'T EXPLAIN JUST HOW I REALLY FEEL,
TO LIVE WITHOUT YOU FOR I AM SO ALONE.
TOMORROW I WILL WALK IN THE BRIGHT SUNSHINE,
SIT BESIDE THE LAKE THAT MIRRORS THE BLUE SKY,
WELCOME THE WIND ON MY FACE SO LIKE YOUR TOUCH,
AS I WATCH THE SHADOWS PLAY IN THE DARKNESS OF THE TREES,
I HAVE COME THIS TIME TO BID YOU, MY LOVE, A FINAL, GOOD BY.
