Was it a dream of moons past, or a fantasy of days to come?
Your face I’ve seen before, memories of someone I loved
Emotions overfill a heart that’s been killed
Tears are like wine, my cup over-flows
Scars of battles lost, victory seldom sung
Going through life, pieces are picked up
Broken inside as my smile is painted on
Finding it hard to breathe, wanting to give up
So love has damaged me again, when does the healing begin
Cold and numb, unsure of the future to come
Looking in the mirror at a statue of stone
Dead on the inside, only flesh and bone
Eyes half shut, pride coughed up
Choke on the ashes, rest within a casket
Love is dead, soul cut and bled
Alone I’ve become, the heart of The Phantom
So time moves on while misery sings her song
The company is nice, but the hurt goes on
Deep is the wound, I hope it ends soon
Can you tell….my heart’s been through hell?

Considering all things, I'm sure you'ven been thru hell.

Oh this is sad to read, yes I can also tell.

Your heart and eyes bleed salty tears,
but you struggle on, despite your fears.
A sad but beautifully written piece of poetry.
