on a cold lonely night
such as this
a heart that was once bleak
is now mended and complete
the pitter patter of the rain
against the window
the crunch of the leaves
beneath my feet
the wind rustling through
the leaves and the trees
the sun that breaks the dawn
the gentle breeze through my hair
like a lover's caress
the flowers that bud
like a tender kiss
and i wonder with awe at
life's new lease
I look at the beauty around me
and wonder what I have missed?
This is my life's new lease.

Great piece. There is so much to take in from every day life that is missed by so many.
