Broken

Contributed by lostinmyself on Tuesday, 3rd November 2009 @ 08:12:50 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Oh, broken soul,
why do you cry,
'cause he no longer
dries your eyes;
what good is it
to carve a path
from eyes of love
to broken heart?
Why should you weep
when love is lost,
if keeping it,
was such a cost
to your sweet heart
that holds such pain
'cause he is gone,
but words remain.

Oh, broken child,
you must not cry
for love so lost,
was meant to die,
if he could scorn you,
turn away,
and leave you torn
apart this way,
why would you
want his hand to dry
the tears that fall
from longing eyes?

Oh, broken heart,
release your pain,
and mend the parts
he tore away,
with sweetest lies
and softest touch;
betrayal hidden,
in his love.
Oh, sweetest sigh,
you swept away,
the words I spoke
to make him stay,
but unknowing
he could not obey,
my heart he broke,
and threw away.
.

I bet if you come back tomorrow and reread this, you'll be as impressed as I am. We are our own worst critics, aren't we?

beautifully sad, sweetie. I hope it was cathartic for you.

Another day, another time. Life tends to drive us full circle and one
day we cry for something that in later moments make us wonder why.

I know this came straight from your heart hun. And that is why it is
so beautiful. But it is also why it is so damn sad.

*hugs you tight*

Its so much better than perfect, Its perfectly complete !
It has a wonderful classic feel to it...reminds me of old time poetry
One wonders why the most beautiful things have more than a touch of sadness...
Hope this is healing for you as well, keep writing and god bless.

You are indeed an artist with the pen at your command.
It is easy to write words sometimes, but to thread them together into a work of art is no easy thing, yet you have made it appear so

Great work

Steve
