As my twilight years rush by,
I see a life spent in the blink of an eye.
Regrets, I have more than a few,
Things left undone that I rue.
Climbed mountains, fought wars, sailed all the seas;
Husband, father, friend, I have been all of these.
But one lifelong regret clouds the water,
I never danced with my daughter.

I've danced with a few daughters of others,
but, alas, never had one of my own.
