Shaking House

Contributed by anonymous1212 on Tuesday, 3rd November 2009 @ 06:24:26 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

This houses walls
They storm and shake
The inner being
Alone it quakes

The screams so loud
Are silent alone
The world is bright
Outside this home

This little heart
It nears on breaking
And weakens from
The house that’s shaking

And the voice that comes
From this little heart
Holds thoughts
To tear this house apart

This shaking house
Is not home
And the souls inside
They drift alone

And the souls may drift on
Their own way
Until it comes
Their dying day

The shaking house
Yearns to see better
But cannot escape
This stormy weather

So on and on
The thunder rolls
And this shattered house
It takes its toll

This is something that goes right to the readers heart and rests there.

Incredible verse but haunting and sad to me, relatable.
