Even so, I don't want Spring to come

Contributed by ForeverWinter on Monday, 2nd November 2009 @ 04:39:38 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

At the end of last winter
All of the ice and glistening lights melted away
Turning into an ocean that splashed across the world,
An ocean that lacked the color blue.
But the ocean had many other colors.
It was plentiful with reds and greens and purples,
Pinks and yellows and golds,
It even consisted of colors that had never been seen before.
These colors danced around in the ocean
Shining radiantly in the sun.
They mixed within the waves of the ocean
Washing up on shore only to be dragged back into the sea.
One day, the ocean began to cool.
The dancing colors slowly stopped dancing.
The reds and the greens and the purples,
The pinks and the yellows and the golds,
And even those colors that had never been seen before,
Slowly began to disappear.
Replacing them was the familiar sheet that lay over them only one year prior.
Soon, all of the colors had vanished.
It was as if they were hiding from some monster,
A monster that had been there all along
Waiting for the ice and the glistening lights to return.
As winter began once again
All that could be seen for miles
Was the color Blue.

I loved the entire poem but the ending is so moving. Good work.

You've clearly let all your emotion come flooding out in this one, it is washed with intensity.
It is always good to write out your frustrations in this way and clearly it has proved fruitful.
Great work.

Steve
