From Austin to Dallas

The bags are packed,
And I’m vacuuming the floor.
I’m moving on to Dallas
Cause I don’t love you anymore.
Thought you had my number?
Well, don’t bother making that call
Cause the phone’s already in the car,
And I ain’t missing you at all.
By the time I hit Georgetown,
I’ll stop being your clown
Cause the river I cried for you
Carried me right on out of town.
My tears will be spent,
My cheeks dry by Temple,
And when I’m smiling in the sunlight,
I won’t be thinking of your dimples.
And when I near the edge of Lorena,
I won’t stop in at that honky-tonk.
I won’t need a drink or two,
And I won’t long to hear sad country songs.
I’ll speed right on through Waco
Without even stopping for gas
Cause each mile between us
Is proof that our time has passed.
And that long, dry stretch of land
Between Hillsboro and my new home
Won’t bring you back into my mind
As I watch those lonely horses roam.
And if you should see a wide stream of blood
Running right up I-35,
Don’t follow it to my front door, baby
Cause there’s no way that wound is mine.
