the meek

The Meek

Corruption is alive and free
Living out loud on our streets

Sinners and priest
A hundred a dollar
Tellin- us we can't stand.
But, we must now holler
To take it, take it back
Take what means something
Something to me

Erosion lives, and it leaves
You a little less than me

Sailors and kings
A hundred a dollar
Tellin- us to take a stand.
Take what you want, take back
Take back what mean some-
Something to me

Death, it runs alive
Giving you our early demise

Dancers with a ring
A hundred a dollar
Like a dime a dozen
Regular zing
We're losin' our voice
A million bee's a sting
We're losin' our choice

Death, it kills us
But we have a leg to catch da bus
To let them know
We are the meek
We're the meek

**** your penance
**** your heaven
**** you loss
You ******* bigot and your cost
**** your clean thought
That you ******* bought
For a future life

Only if you take my hand
Can you understand, how to survive
A hundred a dollar
A million a bee's sting

It's time to holler
It's time to believe
In you
In me

I'm not a liar

A million dollars
A hundred a saint
Washed on the rocks
We are nothing
Nothing, but the meek

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
