The Burial Ground

Contributed by Opium on Tuesday, 1st April 2003 @ 10:09:06 PM in AEST
Topic: mystical

The myth talks about a nightingale
Who used to narrate this dark tale
About a girl that was found
Born on the burial ground

The years began to fly
So the story passed by
A beauty living among the dead
Guiding their souls to heaven overhead

For some time I thought it was a fairytale
Until I heard the whispers of that nightingale
Murmuring in my cold ear
Some words no one else would hear

Then a ghost appeared in the mist
A charming beauty with bloody wrists
It all felt like a quiet reverie
Though her eyes held deep misery

Then the fog gently came down
She was wearing a holy gown
And we walked to the skies with no sound
But I forgot my body on the burial ground
