Where Is Mine

Contributed by gmcse8 on Wednesday, 21st October 2009 @ 09:13:59 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

WHAT ABOUT ME

Today is like yesterday,
tomorrow will be the same.
I am not allowed a display,
of irritation at all the claims.

Claims on all that is mine,
treasure, experience, emotion,
hugs, support and time.
To give, give, give, is my only function.

I give all I possess
I give encouragement and hugs.
Cheer all on with my largesse.
When I ask for a hug, I am met with shrugs.

Family and friends come when they need something;
all other times I do not exist.
Courage needs braced, cash is needed, or egos need stroking,
They come running; my wants are dismissed.

Why is there not something for me?
Where are my hugs when I am forlorn?
When I am in pain or down why does no one see?
Will no one come to my rescue when of strength I am shorn?

There is no one there when I hurt, when I spiral into despair.
No one to hug me, no pat on the back.
No appreciation with me will they share.
When others have what they want, they care not for what I lack.

Yes I hear you, its hard being the giver, but you would surely be missed by many, treat yourself today with something special just for you. You deserve it.
