Happy

Contributed by Voice of the Silent on Monday, 19th October 2009 @ 08:06:06 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Surrounded by love
Drowning in misery
Makes no sense

I've got all I could want
And yet I feel empty
I've got friends, family, best girl ever
I have possessions beyond my desire
Money, knowledge power if I want it

I still feel a void
Some days worse then others
My misery makes no sense

'm simple yet complex
I seem to live the simple life
When around friends
But it's all complex and to hard to understand

Why not end it all?
End the misery
End my friends worry
Why I am not meant to be?
Happy

Wow! I visited that place many times before. This poem reminded me of me in many ways. I can relate word for word. Great thing we are in possession of a great weapon, and that is writing. Continue using it. Great piece!

Very thoughtful write.

I believe it is not what you have in life but what you do with it that makes you happy. All the possessions in the world can't give you purpose, and purpose is what fulfills you.

creative minds often live in dark places even though the sun is brightly shining use the writing or other creative processes to change this x

it is hard to be happy most of times.
i know people who r just naturally
optimistic and smiling in their character
every time i see them, it's crazy! i get
mad becuz i want to be like that, but i try.
joy often involves searching for it...

take care

-K.Z.

I know this feeling very well. For me, its really hard to be happy because I can't see the friends that I have alot of the time, even if they live relatively close to me. I don't know if this makes you feel any better but this is an awesome heart breaking poem.

Wow friend,
I know that feeling too. Keep writing as that helps. Happiness comes from with in. Happiness to me is writing and ofcourse my kids and Grand kids. Also Ypdc helps me to stay happy 'cause you can always find trobled souls here. If in my pain my writing can touch others then what more could I want?
Hang tuff Kelly and keep on keeping on.
luv, huggs, blessings, happy,
emy

That very first stanza says a lot, Kelly. Gotta love that analogy.

Anyway, from a writing stand point, you're just getting better every day dude.

Now, if this is an autobiography of sorts, I'm gonna slap you. ;-) I think a lot us, especially us poets, have had a day when we just want to cash it all in but hey, best girl ever? Dude!!!! Hang in.

Take care and a very nice piece of writing for sure.
