You do not know me but we have met. A helping hand, a kind word, a simple act to brighten your day. I am all of these things. I am glad to help someone in need or to dry a tear from your eye. Friend or stranger, I am there as a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, an eye to see, and a voice to advise. But where is the ear to listen to me? Who can dry the tears I weep in solitude? I prefer to keep emotions secret and help those who don’t. But taking on other’s problems only magnify my own. I cannot pass one in need, but my pain continues unknown. Am I forever cursed with my sorrow? Where is the special one to brighten my day, lend me a hand, and calm my soul? I know you are out there somewhere…But do you know that I am as well? Do you know I am searching for you?

I know how difficult it is to bare your soul like this. One day, though, that special someone is going to recognize the compassion in your heart and realize the capacity for love it promises.

So don't give up. You're asking for something extraordinary, and someone that special doesn't come along every day. Be patient and your patience will, I believe, be rewarded.
