Self Sacrifice

That statue cries along the cracks
Nothing beautiful, all she lacks.
Bomb molded inside, quiet tick
With hatred of self, she is sick.
A statue across the courtyard winks
Warmed, liquefied, but heart sinks.
Disease inside will poison him too,
Nothing worse than what love could do.
She fears, but returns wink just as well
Invites company into her wretched hell.
Some secret selfish ploy? No, unintended
Or craft of bomb inside – world upended.
To push away for his safety ensured
Or keep close so comfy end endured?
A comfortable closing for self alone
Or consider him when end is known?
Hatred, hatred of cemented ways
Self-destruct to save worthless craze.
She thinks, It never should have been
As she detonates deadly bomb within.
