Stronger Than Ever

Contributed by poisonpoetry on Friday, 16th October 2009 @ 08:09:53 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Today I feel strong, but once I was weak
beaten and bullied and too scared to speak
Slowly I sunk till I hit rock bottom
then sunk a bit more feeling lost and forgotten

While down in the depths like drowning in water
each breath that I took, seemed to get shorter
The hope that I had well it quickly faded
along with the help which I somehow evaded

I said my goodbyes to the world that I hated
and closed both my eyes which by now were dilated
The tears I was shedding subsided and stopped
I think I had cried out every last drop

A voice in my head told me not to concede
to get up and fight for my life and succeed
A door had been opened a path to proceed
but if I would walk it where would it lead

Afraid and alone I set on my track
and promised myself I’d never look back
No matter what challenge I’d have to defeat
I vowed I’d stand on my own two feet

That was the past and now it's the present
it certainly hasn't been easy or pleasant
But now I no longer give in to the pressure
each blow that I take makes me stronger than ever
