Children in the Dark

Contributed by Marietta_Imhof on Tuesday, 1st April 2003 @ 04:18:54 AM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

Most people believe
that this war will set everyone free.
There will be no more attacks on America,
and that is the key.

Nothing else matters,
this is the justification for war.
America is safe,
and Saddam Hussein exists no more.

President Bush will be the Hero,
no questions asked.
His lies will be ignored
and his motives won't be grasped.

But everyone is missing the point.
This is not about winning the war,
or about who can gain the most.
This is about so much more.

This is about people getting murdered
not about one Man's gain of Pride.
People are losing their homes,
and they are running out of places to hide.

What will it take
to stop people from dying?
How many more times
can you watch the children crying?

This is a selfish war.
It's the innocent who suffer from this.
They will never know what it's like
to live life in Bliss.

So I pray to God
to keep these people whole.
To give light to the children in the dark,
so that they can keep the faith in their soul.

i will agree with your last three lines... my personal opinion of our president is irrelevent as i did not vote for him... i do not know his agenda.. i do know that the innocents of iraq have been supressed for so long... i wrote a poem on my feelings called so sad... very well written... blessings to you and to our right to express ourselves in this free country...

Im sorry that there are people dying. This happens in times of war.
Everyone says President Bush has hidden motives yet noone can bring truth or proof to what they say.
I didn't want to see war but I support our troops.
I also include everyone in my prayers for safety, love and a better world to live in.
