the moon

When I used to see the moon
I would think of you and smile
Now when I see it I’m all alone
And I think how its been such a while

Each day that goes by I don’t know what to do
No idea just I know I’m confused
But one thing’s clear that id like you to hear
There’s no one for me but you

Maybe that will change and I hope it does
Cause right now it just cant be
Or maybe it wont cause it wasn’t just lust
Could we be together I can’t guarantee
Cause what happened has happened and I’m not proud
But we were so great so recently
I know you still see all we can be

I’ve cared more about you more than anything else
Because all I want in life is to be happy
And you made me happy more than anything else
That’s why it hurts now that you want to be free

Everything bad now it’s all just a blur
Cause that’s not what I want to recall
Ill never forget how amazing we were
Even without Kramer up on my wall

Even when we are apart more than ever
Each thought of mine still leads to you
And we both know that what you did wasn’t clever
But right now I need you I do

So yea you hurt me and it still hurts bad
All I wanted was regret and sympathy
But I didn’t get it so I got mad
We both know that’s not the real me

Now that I’ve had time to contemplate
I’m confused yet more level headed
I think to myself how you and me were so great
But I’m not really sure where we’re headed

I’m not ready to give up just yet because
I’ve tried so hard were in love I’m no jerk
You say its not over just put on pause
Will the play button ever work?

Where to go from here I just don’t know
For now ill try being your friend
But I feel like a liar putting on a show
A show that might not have an end

What did you wish for when you saw that shooting star?
I know you can’t tell me completely
But tell me that last night we spent on the beach
When you saw it was your wish about me?

Now when I see the moon
I just can’t simply look away
Cause you and the moon won’t go away soon
Both you and the moon are here to stay

So how long will it be before I can see
The moon for just what it is
Will it always be something of meaning to me?
Have I already had my last kiss?

Will I just see a plain barren celestial body
Without it eliciting feeling
Or see a majestic light in the sky and inside me
Will I feel our love what’s its meaning

Because now that everything bad is done
The truth you must not deny
No one but us knows of all our fun
Just to gaze in our eyes was sublime

I think that’s love but maybe I’m wrong
I don’t think I am do you?
Is there a chance there exists a lust that strong
To leave me to feel like I do

So I know who I think of when I see the moon
Your beautiful face floods my mind
But what does it mean id like to know soon
Cause I think about you all the time
