...Stolen...

Contributed by Obscured_Existance on Thursday, 1st October 2009 @ 07:38:33 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Why did you take it from me?
It wasnt yours to take..
That awful night I still remember
I cry myself awake

My nightmares never leave me
Since that horrid day
You took from me whats precious
In your forceful way

For my body was not yours
To do with as you please
You've torn my life apart
Why cant you not see?

I closed my eyes so tightly
And imagined it wasnt real
The minutes seemed like hours
Now time just cannot heal

You left me laying there
Feeling dirty and ashamed
Even though you forced yourself on me
I felt I was to blame

As I staggered home all broken
Seemed like home was miles away
I then sat in my shower
And scrubbed u all away

For you had no right to do this
No right to make me feel
So lost, abused and lonely
My innocence you did steal..

Hi,

Very powerful and very emotional. It's not
difficult to glean what was committed here - the
worst act (next to murder) that one human being
can inflict upon another. I don't know what else
to say on this, because I don't understand the
mindset of the perpetrator, nor could I begin to
understand the full extent that such an act would
have on its victim. Your poem, however, hides
very little. I can feel the pain that must have
been felt when putting it to paper.

Brave girl!
