The old fashioned alarm clock in my room
Has been ringing non stop
But only now
I can hear it
Only now
I no longer want it to ring
I sit up in bed and pick up the clock
I stare at it in a detached manner
It keeps ringing
But the ringing has no meaning anymore
I wind the clock back
Hours ago…
Days ago…
Weeks ago…
Months ago…
Back to before I even knew you existed
The ringing stops
I put the clock back where it was
I take a deep breath
And finally get out of bed
