Each day she walked past;
wanting to smell the sweet rose,
the rose died unsniffed

An excellent analogy of the old adage, "stop and sniff the flowers" in my opinion. I get so much more out of this but I guess I'll just leave it at that for now...ceptin' this:

Also, in my most humble opinion, haikus don't always work but this one definitely does.
