descent. . .

Contributed by elle on Monday, 28th September 2009 @ 04:22:56 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

blowing sand on twilights' beach
the sting & spray at ankles' length
that soars on wind in pale moonlight
across the coarse of summers' night

gentle is the notion held
still, in shadows dip & swell
that lifts my very spirit high
into the quietest of the night

a velvet touch of delicacy
the salty lift & ebb of sea
guidance scrolled upon the stars
the lick of waves & foam, afar

shaft of light on moonbeam glow
illuminate briny undertow
the depth of sleep, woven so deep
Calypso, do you know me?

Should be titled: Ascend

The best spun words can never equal the feeling of the waves in darkness.

Alone of the beach late on a warm night? That's how I felt reading this.. It's a somewhat beautiful and melancholy set of emotions this piece brings out. Very beautiful write Elle!
