the shadow

Contributed by bryanescapeartist on Saturday, 26th September 2009 @ 09:55:58 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

it all went wrong one day.

tradgedies came forth neverending.

Hit me like a ton of bricks.

the death of one and a suicide of another.

is the reason why i hold this knife close

to protect and to self inflict

while they judge from their emotionally scarred brain.

i am on my own, i have always been on my own.

they laugh

as this disease manifests

into the very pit of my being

my sanity fades

like the slaughtered remains of humanity

like the faint eyes of the undead

Why do i constantly ask myself.

is this a nightmare?

no, this is me

i was never prepared for this

losing my mind each and every day

my remorse taken with it

thats why i am the way i am.

these pills make me numb of the sick twisted world around me

i used to wear my heart on my sleeve

but no one seemed to care

paranoia seems to be my only friend

exept comfort

it fills me with anxiety

i'm not going to waste my time with false interpretations

i'll just focus on death and destination

i am void of emotions

i am the shadow in which you step on

i am the dirt beneath your feet

the pawn in this game of chess

i am no one to anyone

i am but an atom

of the evil waiting to be released once more

in your nightmare

evil in a bottle

waiting to be resurrected

to take my revenge.

who am i you ask?

i am....no one.

Hi,

I like the depth of this write. It tells me .... pain,
lonliness, longing, loss, and a touch of
self-deprecation. What I don't know is if you write
about someone you know, or if it is autobiographical.(?) As Max Ehrmann said ......
''You are a child of the Universe - no less than the
moon and stars - you have a right to be here!''

Words worth remembering for the suffering soul
within your poem.

Well versed, nonetheless.

Tommy

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
