It's starting to seem as though
Fate's playing a joke on me
I hardly see you anymore
But you are all I see
A phone call after lunch
The speaker shares your name
He also shares your accent
Is someone playing games?
I force myself to speak
As I am thrown off guard
I pull myself together
But the shock still hits me hard
As I'm waiting for the train
I happen to glance round
I lock eyes with your double
My mouth drops to the ground
My heart; it skips a beat
My lungs take no more air
Until reality hits
That it's not you standing there
Later, whilst reading a book
There's a beacon of light
I see your name down in print
And it draws my eyesight
I stare blankly at it
As the other words dim
I force myself to move on
No. I should not think of him
Yes, time has continued passing
And it's a riddle to me
Its been ages since I've seen you
But you are all I see
