Cocaine Cocaine

Contributed by death_not_be_feared on Monday, 21st September 2009 @ 08:13:47 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

There she sits // there she snorts
Here she grew tall // there she snorts it all

Ever loving, ever growing.
Need need need for cocaine.

There she cried when he broke her heart // there she cut her first line
There she went seeking for an ease to her pain // there she came across her coke mine.

Ever present, ever longing
desperation desperation desperation for cocaine.

There she fell deep into the snow // there she over dosed
There here nose bled out // there she went comatose

Ever hurting, ever desirable
ache ache ache for cocaine.

There she was burried // there cocaine took over her veins
There here family wept //

Cocaine, cocaine.

I felt every word of this poem.....felt a sense of desperation all the while I was reading it........hope its not a true account of someones life.Being addicted to substances is a horrible thing, makes one think what we really are hungry for?We were'nt born addicted to drugs,nicotine,alcohol.....yet its those things that can kill us we crave after. To fill a void?To ease pain.........emotions?.........A deadly poison eating at a human soul........

I loved the poem, just hate the word addiction........ To strong for me.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
