One Moment In Time

The moon threw down her glorious blue,
over all she could see as on those two,
Lying in comfort atop this blue hill,
where there was no sound and all was still,
Where the wine had flowed so freely before,
now with their vessels strewn on the floor,
these two silent figures lay in the rye,
and in awkward calm stare up at the sky.
The moon and the stars’ astonishing glow,
was a fitting distraction for those two below.
The silence grew to a deafening height,
‘til one’s left hand met the other’s right,
those two young men lay nervous and frightened,
and their hands grew close and slowly tightened,
turning to look into each other’s eyes,
glowing with fear and lit by the blue skies,
their cold, shaking bodies yearned for the sun,
but all the while their quivering lips were as one.
The moon and the star’s astonishing glow,
Was a perfect setting for those two below.
And on that hill midst the rye and the flowers,
“We get one moment in time” they said,
“and this time is ours” .

I thought it was very profound with some pretty good imagery.
