Being a poet can kinda be a pain.
It's really hard writting and sleeping on park
bench always caught in the rain.
The writter gets the money and the fame.
But who needs that stuff.
When you can be so underground even your mother won't remember your name.
Who needs the fancy stuff like food and running water.
Its been fifteen years since you dated.
When your ex left ya wrote her a sonnet bet that really taught her.
And that book you decided to self publish
just isnt moving so fast.
Ya sold three outta of the hundred seems ya made it at last.
It's a upward struggle incase ya didnt know it.
Holes in your shoes beans in a can.
Thank God breathing id free Cause ya cant afford much
being a poet..
