Can I Call You Daddy

Contributed by vegastar on Monday, 31st March 2003 @ 06:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Can a lifetime of blame disapate
My mother too consumed to show she cared
Too busy reminding me you were never there
Twisting the knife I never asked for Longing for love I never knew
Inside a little girl
She reaches out wih nothing left to give
She sacrifices herself in hope to gain the love she never had
So please take her hand
Help her understand
Let the peices start to mend
So she can stand a whoman whole nd then
She'll know she has a daddy
One who shelters her from the wayward winds
Dry her tears when the rains decend
Explore together her hopes and dreams
And guide her down lifes paths and streams

Beautiful poem. My father technically has been a part of my life, but his heart and love were/are absent, so he might has well not have been. I understand your pain. Nice poem.....
