Walking alone in the blizardly heat
Sleeping together in the scorching cold
Never quite right no matter where I go
I'd go anywhere but nowhere alone
Never sure of the time or place
Lost in time but together in space
These are the lines that fill my head
These creep right in & shake my bed
I can't keep them out wherever I go
Always together but always alone.
I wake up slowly from my tired dreams
Forgive me heart, nothing is what is seems.
Keep your distance from this killing machine
I'll break your mind, your soul & your dreams.
Crushing them until nothing is real
Making sure you have nothing to feel
keep this in mind before you turn on me
for what I can do you will surely see.
Gone with the wind these memories fade
Each passing second, each slowing day
I wake by myself & I can't wonder why
These are the thoughts that lead me to die.
I walk alone and quietly keep, all of these
things to myself in my sleep.

Nicely done! It's like a good book or bit of music - crescendos toward the end, and then quietens in an anticlimax just after. And always there is confused paradox - "Lost in time but together in space" |
