Fairytale ending

Contributed by purplestary on Thursday, 17th September 2009 @ 05:48:30 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

It's been over a year now,
and your still around.
you still say you love me
in spite of my flaws

Next year at this time
we will be married,
together, forever,
it sounds so cliche.

I still cry sometimes,
but now you are here
to wipe away the tears
so they do not leave scars.

I love you more then you know
and everyday i feel unworthy
I just can't beleive,
that you are still here...

Just like that night you slept sitting up
underneath me on the couch.
I woke up amazed,
you stayed with me the whole night.

I was even more amazed that i fell asleep
I don't generaly feel that safe
with someone I barely know..
I couldn't beleive I let my guard down.

next year at this time we will be married
together, forever, it's not so cliche
this love is unique,
this love is unbreakable.

together, forever, a fairytail ending...

P.S. I would have rated it higher, but rhyming poetry is more my forte...i just find it more of a challenge to say what it is you are trying to say, yet still make it rhyme - but that's just a personal preference of mine so take no offence please.

Sometimes we can't believe that incredible things can happen to us, only to other people.
You've proved that they do.Hold onto what you have, nurture it and it will grow from that beginning seed and bloom into something truly marvellous.

I had to read it several times to really get the poem.. It's so beautiful :)
And I've always liked non-rhyming poems better than the ones that rhyme.
Thanks for inspiring!

Beautifully written. I wish you the very best. I have been married going on 9 years and every day has its ups and downs. Somedays feel like a fairytale while others feel pretty close to nightmares. You did a great job with this write.

Rich

PS thank you for the comment on my poem and if you feel like reading any of my other feel free.
