A life has fallen among the trees,
A crashing loud death then still,
At first the tiny ones slip beneath the skin, then water,
Air and time…
The cracks they widen and rot goes deep;
The blocks of life released.
Welcoming seed, spore, mold, and root…
Life’s circle soon completes.
The chaos, noise, and cries of death;
Then... the hymns of newborn life.
