Mountain Climbing

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Wednesday, 16th September 2009 @ 10:13:56 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Through the mist
up the winding road
to the mountain high
I did climb

Eager I walk
over stones and dust
higher and higher
lost in my mind

Legs aching
from the assent
Chest rising and falling
Tis not easy I find

Breathless
Reaching for the sky
Searching the blue
Clouds cover eyes blind

Stumbling now
Stones loose
Muscles grow numb
Tackling the incline

Apex reached
Breathless fascination
The world beneath me
Conquered...now mine

Oh sweets it is so grand to know that you are still writing and now to
have you post this -- I'm just beside myself with happiness. :)

What a wonderful metaphor and it is beautifully positive. I adore the
idea within this. I was right there with you climbing and running out of breath
the higher we went. But perching on that summit is so glorious is it not?

The emotion in this is overwhelming, hun. And I LOVE it!!

*hugs you*

~ MG

bout time you got back here!!!

I really like this mountain (except I'm a little out of breath now), this poem, and the attitude.
