My Rainbow

I was standing
at the end of my rainbow,
with no where to go
and no pot of gold.
I spent days following it
trying to find the end.
In hopes that I would find
something so good and true-
possibly even you.
My spirits were so high
and I didn't even realize
how much time had went by.
But now, as I stand here,
desperate, heartbroken,
I see that your love
is more than just a token.
It is a medal,
something that's one of a kind,
and without a doubt
truly hard to find.
I cannot chase my destiny.
When the time comes,
it will fall right at my feet.
So then I turn away,
and walk along with my head held high
when I think of the times
when I will no longer cry.
