Back in my day

Contributed by packatack on Wednesday, 16th September 2009 @ 01:28:31 AM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

ONce upon a day I don't remember when
But taking that first hit blew my mind away
Ever since then I was toking everyday
Didn't care how much money I spent to feel ok
See, I was saved when I was a little boy
Worldly ways got me straying away
To a life where it almost took me to the grave
Don't do drugs was what the Pastor says
But I didn't care just wanted to stay blazed
Years gone by I kept toking it up
And knew in heart to keep looking up
Tripping and laughing my mind played games
Making it easy for my life turn to sinful ways
No more church and no more cares
Started doing other drugs to get a better blaze
Then one day my family left me and told me to pray
Alone and so sad I stopped and prayed
Called my Lord Jesus only one who does not betray
He opened my eyes to see my wrongways
So now and forever Jesus is my Way

The journey to being saved is often a long difficult one. Glad you made it.
