~The Darkest Night~

I listened to the wind, whispering in the tree's.
The darkness fell around me, the shadows all sat silent.
In the air it hung, like an invisable fog.
making the world seem heavy, even the leaves didn't dance.

The clouds rolling in far off from the coast,
wanted to tuck away the stars that shined the most.
Then at once, a distant shine, not city lights I could see
it brought forth such a calm to a silent gal like me.

There she was, trying to shine through the clouds
shoving them away even in the darkest night.
Proving once again, nothing is ever lost,
if we but keep trying, no matter what the cost.

We can shine through the darkness,
casting a beautiful glow, that will follow close behind us
no matter where we go, even with hearts a heavy
and the shadows falling silent, there she is once more,
shining brighter still to guide us...................

I like this a lot. It's a nice take on the moon's message.

We can shine through the darkness,

If we so choose.

if we but keep trying

That's the secret. Never give up and never give in.

A couple of small things I noticed.

No need for a comma in the first line. Line 3, there's a typo... "invisible."

Shel, this is so beautiful. And not just the words and your glorious
descriptions, but the message hun. It's remarkable and it sets a
floundering heart a little more at ease. It's gorgeous hun. Like
a virtual hug of the heart. That last line is monumental in its comfort.

Beautiful as always, sweets. ^_^

*hugs*

I love the way this poem feels....
Beginning quite eerily, softening with hope in
the middle, then that warming crescendo at its end.
A really lovely read Michelle x
