I want to go to the sea again, to the wild sea and slate sky.
I long for windswept freshness as storm clouds swirl by.
To hear the rumble of engorged breakers crashing,
And watch the grey mist lift as a blurry dawn is breaking.
I have got to go to the sea again, to the call of the ripping tide,
The yearning to be brine dampened reaches far and wide.
Especially on a windy day, with isolation overcast,
Open mouthed I will stand and breathe its salty blast.
Requisite it is, that I should see the sea again, will someone carry me?
Then leave me facing outward in the flying spray of purity.
Will that someone take my hand and not leave me in seclusion?
I will stand and stare with salty eyes to some point on the horizon.
I need to go the sea again, answer the call of the unbridled force,
Unseen power of wind and weather blow shipping far off course.
Rough waves whip my skin, washing me, as here am I only
Dripping but cleansed, in solitude, but I am not lonely.

Well this was quite refreshing and has me longing to visit the sea
myself. Too bad I'm only on a lake. :(
I adore your word choices and your exquisite descriptions. This
is a beautiful portrait of what the sea feels like when it takes hold
of your soul. Fabulous.

I could hear the rush of the waves and smell the salty air. You killed me here now I am ready to head back for the ocean!
I was lucky enough in dire cicumstances to visit once this year, thanks for sharing this!
It is well written and a delight to read.
(I hope you get there soon)
I am an hour away from the Ocean, just unable to spend as much time as I like there, (next year will be better!)
Hugs

Wow..this is absolutely one of the best "sea" poems I have read in a long time. It is so compelling, so dynamic and utterly enjoyable.
The imagery was superb... Thank you for sharing.
