invisible. . .

Contributed by elle on Friday, 11th September 2009 @ 10:15:55 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

homeless
no. . .
acknowledgement
scape-goat of our time
catching up with third-world lore
a cup - but empty - mine.

no blind or cripple
must you be
to fall to such an end
& if you have no family
you might not see an end. . .
to wind & rain
& destitute
no where to lay your head
until your soul
flees from your eyes
but unlike the walking dead. . .
no zombie killer
interference. . .
to interrupt your woe
& if you've done your homework
"will work for food"
in tow!!!

I came very close to being homeless. Something I never want to have to relate to. Scary.

Anyway, this poem made me think of that. The scariness, the sadness. Excellent descriptive writing, my dear.

Wow... you've really written a powerful point about being homeless in the west.. It's such a terrible situation and it's one that snowballs for the individual without chance of getting help..

Great write - just wish more people could read it and that the situation could get more attention..
