Holiday Poetry

*I do realize Christmas is quite awhile away. This is an old poem I just got around to revising. Not completely sure I am wholly satisfied with it yet. I just thought it would be interesting to put a twist on a holiday that is supposedly full of happiness. And I want feedback on it very much. I am also curious if anyone can see what I noticed after reading it through, my accidental cleverness so to speak. (There are two things. A cyber-hug to anyone who gets it) :) Also, I think it looks better aligned to the left, but I couldn't get it right *
I want to see red-blood
soaked streets
lined with corpses;
their eyes nothing but
deep dark
blood-drenched
sockets.
Red,
blood.
White,
snow.
A Candy Cane Chaos,
all my doing!
I didn’t care.
I was filled with hate.
I want to see dead
Christmas carolers
fa-la-la-ing;
their voices nothing but
silent screams
echoing in the
snowy streets.
Giving is a lost art and
receiving is an act
that
can only last ‘til the
smiles are gone, but
I don’t care.
I am filled with hate.
Hate is all I see on
this holiday.
It’s nothing but a
fabricated folly of fictions,
a story of Santa Claus
and Jesus
to tuck the children
into bed with visions
of material objects
dancing in their heads.
Red,
blood.
White,
snow.
A Candy Cane Chaos!

It reminds me of a film I watched a while back called 'Black Christmas' where everybody dies. Ho-Ho-Ho. I love dark comedy / satirical sarcasm like this and I really enjoyed reading it. Best poem i've read so far today...

I don't care much for Christmas but I stop short at genocide. This is a great rant. Quite muscular; and violently passionate. Death to all Carollers! Woody
