When I write a poem
It is often you in mind
When I am stuck with a chore
Your vision will ease the grind

You can make a gloomy day
Seem filled with sun and warm
There is no burden when with you
Just the occasional storm

And when the dust is settled
So soon without the wait
You will make an arduous task
Into a pleasant date

Everything you touch
Seems always to be gold
I always want to be with you
To love, protect and hold
