The decision gets harder;
Each incision gets larger.
Hope starts to fade away;
Faith follows without sway.
The moments you cherish,
Flood your mind as you perish.
Memories that you dread,
Follow even once you're dead.
As breaths get slow and short,
Tears flow quick at the thought.
Pleasantries give way to cursing,
Due to the pain we are nursing.
At the wake they toast your life,
Cry at the words from your wife.
Everyone remembers your big smile,
And forgets your final dark mile.
