He told me that he loved me
How could he say those words?
A punch was how he'd show me
My screams they were not heard
No one to share my secret
And tell them what he'd do
The abuse he gave me daily
The abuse they never knew
This man was there to protect me
And keep me from all harm
Instead he whoa'ed me to him
With all his pretend charm
For he had no intention
To keep me safe and loved
Instead he'd show affection
With a punch a kick and shove
Why did he do this to me?
I could not understand
I thought we would be happy
And we'd stand hand in hand
But little did I know this
And little did he show
A happy loving marrriage
A marriage I didnt know

Tough times indeed.
The bitterness and hurt oozes out from the page as I'm sure it still oozes out of you ........some things can never be forgotten
