Reflections in the mirror create many eyes
Like im under surveillance from giant flies
I run to my left and then to my right
Only to be confronted by myself in sight
I swear there was a door just around this bend
But the passage only lures me into a dead end
I think if I slow down my climbing heart rate
I’ll be able to return back to the ticketing gate
But my eyes are circling, confusing, chasing me in
Deeper into the maze stalking my identical twin
What was that sound, quiet, there it goes once more
Children’s chuckles echoing, creeping along the floor
I run, leaving palm prints on every wall I pass
Dead ends and wrong turns in this labyrinth of glass
I wish I had breadcrumbs or a giant ball of wool
I could drop from my pocket or unravel from a spool
That way I could find my way out by following the trail
But I’m left alone with my reflections chasing my tail
I wish to stop and be free from this diamonds run
The sign lied to me it said “Mirrored house of fun”
I breathe heavy, sweating and feeling so worn
Sudden I get a burst of life by the smell of popcorn
I dash this way and that with my nose leading the way
My reflection can’t keep up as I see the light of day
Im free, Im alive, I can see my anxious mother
“Mum I made it”
“But where’s your little brother!?”
