The full moon is gazing at me in silence tonight.
Maybe she is listening with me to the same song.
A serenade of tree frogs, hiding in leaf,
everyone once inawhile a cricket chirps along.
I feel a touch of fall in the dark night air.
Thinking she will return early this year.
Turning the world into deep dark gold
Magically transforming all the soft green.
Soon the tree I gaze at so softly,
will be my favorite dormant treealive within its strong outer cover,
but bare in branch awaiting a new spring.
Oh muse, my summer, my poetic sister
how I hate to see you drawing to an end.
Shivering at the thought of kissing winters frosty mouth again.
The world around transforming into a room of silver.
So tonight, I shall lose myself in the pale of the moon,
sway with the tree's in a crisp breeze.
A perfect melody carried out in the night
by singing tree frogs hidden high in the trees.

Awww...Sweetie....
I love the seasons. I really really do, and it
galls me that I live in this horrible state where
there are none; where they are simply levels
of hot and the colors are shades of brown.
You have such beautiful and serene images
here. This is a wistful and longing-filled write,
done with grace and flair and I dare say, that
the moon swayed with you. A lovely and
timely write, though I envy you the season.
Love,

Shel, this is truly O U T S T A N D I N G !!
This is both beautiful and melancholy. The changing seasons. Weird, you know?
I was just telling my daughter today that this is the most melancholy of long
weekends. I am torn because I hate to see these beautiful sun-filled days end,
but am so excited about the impending season of autumn, (my favourite). You
have certainly driven my excitement for the hanging colours into an almost
sadness for the loss of green. This is impeccable sweets. A wonderful and
lyrical description the beauties of summer. I weep for her loss with you hun.
Excellent writing. ^_^

lol... I actually don't like summer much. Give me spring and fal all the time. It's too damn hot in the summer. ;-)
But I love your poem. Vivid images with a gentleness...gentle spirit.
Take care,
