It is said they run the world
But they don't understand what the world's really about
To kill is murder
Doesn't it chill you to know?
The man with the orb in his hand
He knows he knows
But we can only suspect
Let him eat his planetary cake
Self-deified gods sit atop flimsy thrones
It's all just lies. Lies heaped upon lies.
The serpent's too fat - he can't bend around
We're too many unsuspecting morsels
After the head, before the tail
Man cannot level the Earth:
since heretics declared her round she cannot fall
Man cannot level man:
I am borne of your likeness, but so are you of mine

The striking phrase
"The serpent's too fat - he can't bend around
We're too many unsuspecting morsels"
really punctuates your verse.
I liked the junctures where your freeform meets poetic trails.
peace. elle :) |
