She’s sitting by a mirror
Combing her long blonde hair
Recalling such happy times
Spent with her husband now not there…
She’s strolling on a sandy beach
Occasionally skipping a stone,
With a young husband by her side
No thoughts of being alone.
She’s laughing at his jokes
With friends and a bottle of wine,
Enjoying a delightful meal
At such a special time.
She’s smiling on a picnic
Enjoying the lovely view;
And a baguette and a bit of brie
Makes her husband smile too.
She’s listening to Mozart
As flames on the logs grow high
And a tear of joy glistens
In the corner of her eye.
She’s staring at a photograph,
Gilt edges around the frame
Reminiscing over her wedding
As she softly kisses his signed name.
She’s sitting by a mirror
Combing her silver hair
Remembering such happy times
When her husband was always there…
