When longing has passed

anguished

Finite; the friction between my space and time
a spasmodic indulgence of self-delusion
mocking the chaos inherent to the expansion
denial is easy for an illusion, I suppose...
That painted, out-reaching finger
as fictitious as Adam's reaching back
as fictitious as me
as real as my ambition
Draw for a us a pool
I shall swim with you
your laughter will make me smile
your joy will fill my heart with love
It is easy to forget a bruised knee
but infinitely more so to bruise again
how unfortunate this all comes to me now
on the brink of yet another death
Life is death, death is life; is all fleeting
love is art, art is hate; is all permanent
a poet is as poetry does and we all cry
a lover is as love wants and we all long
How unfortunate, so unfortunate
and violin string brakes again...
Finite; the friction between my space and time
yet such self-indulgence leaves burns
I suppose I can laugh in retrospect
but only after the dream of longing has passed.
