obsession

His eyes of steel blue
Hold a special charm;
Fire and deep passion,
The storm and the calm.
Warm is his embrace
On the coldest night;
Hidden is the rage,
Coiled inside so tight.
Nobody can see
Behind his disguise,
Least the beguiled girl
Staring in his eyes.
The evil, jealous seed
Growing at a pace
Soon becomes so clear
On his twisted face.
That once warm embrace
Is now hatred’s flame
Circling around her
As she shouts his name.
But his poisoned mind
Won’t let him release
His violent hold,
There’s no hope of peace.
Caught in his cruel grip
She breathes her last breath;
A limp, lifeless soul,
His love crushed to death.

Very dramatic piece. Quite effective in how deceptive control can be. It reminds me of "My Last Duchess" only I like your piece better. Control can kill! Nice write! |
