I grew older
in the waiting
in a state of discontent. . .
a wager to myself
was lost & simply
tried again. . .
& on & on
until the day
I let God enter in.
He eased my fearful longing
He held me to his heart. . .
long enough
for I & sadness. . .
my constant friend
to part. . .
