I don’t see you every day as was the norm,
Yet you have the ability, my heart to warm.
Tho' circumstances have been keeping us at bay,
At your side, I will always stay.
Life has been painful for you of late,
But sooner or later all the pain will abate.
You say there're lots more good times to come,
And I'm looking forward to them, my chum,
For now I'll be content and never complain,
And I'll never leave you out in the rain.
I really only wanted you to know,
Just how much I miss 'us' so.
Between us, there are no promises and no strings,
We simply enjoy the friendship that each of us brings.
The love and respect that we both share,
And the fact that we will always care,
They are enough for me to stand by your side.
You call me your friend and I'm filled with such pride.
So tonight, my friend, though I miss us so,
I'm going to bed now with my heart aglow!

aw Jenni, this brought a tear to my eye and made me think of people I

I admit, I was drawn by the title, but this is not what I expected. I feel very lucky to have read it though, as this was one of the most touching and caring "friendship" writes I've had the pleasure of reading. There is much warmth and happiness inside your words. Your friend is very lucky.
