i wasn't there to catch your fall,
i was oblivious to hear your call.
i went away, could not be found
while your strength was crumbling down.
i planned to come back home that night,
but slumber prevailed, i could not fight.
it was when you needed me most
that i was on another coast.
but i promise you, next time you cry,
next time you frown, next time you sigh,
i'll be there for you standing by,
and i'll give you wings so you may fly...
