Chapters
As our time together winds to a close
There are a few things I want you to know
I am so grateful for the time we had to share
I always knew one day I would look, but you would not be there
Yours is the final chapter that makes up the story of my life
If we had met years before I would have asked you to be my wife
All that remain to be spoken are the closing thoughts
Love’s pain will remain that relationships have brought
I had once hoped for things that were not meant to be
To have someone like you standing beside me
No chapters of the story left to write
No life left for which to fight

Very melancholy piece. You capture the intense emotion of letting someone go quite precisely. It hurts so much but letting go is a part of life. I am sorry for anything you might be experiencing. Again great write!
